From Latvia, I headed on to my 98th country which is Tallinn, Estonia. I actually lost count, I initially thought this was my 99th country. Silly me I counted Antarctica as a country when it’s not even one haha! Anyway, I took a bus from Latvia and paid EUR 11 for the ticket. After 4 hours of smooth journey, I finally reached the bus station. From there, I just took the taxi to the Old Town for EUR 5! The price isn’t bad at all for Europe! The taxi service here is more organized compared to Latvia and Lithuania so I used it a lot.
This time, hosted me during my entire stay. It’s a very beautiful stone house which was converted and renovated to become a luxurious boutique property. The whole hotel (even the stairs) has this comfortable and homey ambiance that I didn’t really feel like I was in a hotel at all. I felt like I was home. No wonder a lot of known personalities and diplomats stayed here during their visit including Prince Charles and one of my favourite authors, Paulo Coelho ♡
Tallinn is really beautiful and interesting but what surprised me the most is how expensive restaurant food is compared to Latvia and Lithuania. I don’t know but maybe the hotel staff recommended only the best places to eat. I can’t complain though because the food is beyond excellent. 🙂
If you guys are planning to visit the Baltics region with financial and time constraints (like us as we left our sailboat behind and we’re not millionaires haha) then I think a 10-day trip would be enough to visit their Old Towns and the Churches. But if you’re lucky enough not to be bounded by such constraints, then staying longer and exploring other towns is really good ♡

(I don’t know about you but sometimes, the environment in a 5-star hotel feels a little stiff for me)
3. It has an excellent rating on booking websites- It has a current rating of 9.4 on , 9.4 on , and a mind-blowing 9.8 on . JUST WOW! 🙂

THE ROOMS AT HOTEL SCHLÖSSE
This 23-room 5-star hotel can be found on Holy Spirit Street where cobblestones, numerous historic storage buildings and merchant houses dating back to the 13th century is built. I was welcomed with a cozy, homey, and elegant stone house with such beautiful antique furnishings and wooden beams. To complete the 5-star experience, I was served with a glass of an exquisite champagne.
I stayed in a Classic Double Room. It’s not that big and there’s not much in it but with its h beddings with duvet, huge window with the view of an open courtyard, elegant curtain fabric, huge LCD flat screen TV,and a beautiful ceiling light, I don’t think I need anything else. The toilet is also pretty complete with walk-in shower, toiletries, and robes. Slippers are also provided by the hotel. The turn-down service is what I also love most because of the chocolate! HAHA!
If you want a bigger and better room than the one I had, you can choose from Superior Garden Queen, Deluxe Garden Queen, Executive Queen, Junior Suite, One-Bedroom Suite, and Presidential Suite.
THE FOOD AT HOTEL SCHLÖSSE

The ambiance is relaxed and warm. You’ll feel like you’ve travelled back to the medieval area with its old cobblestone walls and roaring log fire. It looks like an old underground cellar for me. Breakfast is served here and it’s really good. I especially liked the blood sausage 🙂
Summer Garden- Who wouldn’t love to wine & dine at an open courthouse surrounded by flowers, trees, and cobblestones? If you’re visiting during the summer months, this is an ideal setting to enjoy drinks, light meals, and some delicious homemade desserts. Make sure to call beforehand as they sometimes host events.

AREA GUIDE – OLD TOWN OF TALLINN, ESTONIA
Old Town- Get a glimpse of the medieval past in Tallinn Old Town with its old houses, buildings & churches, cobblestone roads, and the old city wall. Since the hotel is in this area, you just have to wake up, get up, and walk out. It’s such a fascinating view that I didn’t mind walking for hours under the cold weather. It has such a lovely atmosphere and seeing horse-drawn carriages definitely completes the experience 🙂
Christmas Market- If you’re coming for the Christmas holidays, then you’ll definitely love the location of the hotel as it is only 2 minutes away from the Christmas Market. It is on my bucketlist to experience Christmas market in Europe and I’m got lucky to experience it here and in Riga! They play a lot of Christmas carols and even a tagalog song! You’ll see people walking in their traditional dress which is a very beautiful sight!
Lennusadam Seaplane Harbour- Not too far from the Old Town is the Lennusadam Seaplane Harbour. This is a one-of-a-kind museum which people of all ages will all love– perfect for the whole family. Tons of activities can be done such as going inside a real submarine complete with a marine uniform, ships, experience 15 m/s winds, etc. Outside exhibits are for free but the inside experience is worth some euros which is worth it. So if you have an extra euro to spend, then it will be spent well here. The cafes and restaurants around are also good and have reasonable prices.
Toompea Hill- The view of the Old Town’s fortress and rooftops this hill is beyond fascinating, I’m telling you. The stunning view makes the climb all worthwhile.
Oleviste Church- Originally built in the 1250’s and was considered as the tallest building in Europe in the middle ages. Climb up and get a 360-degree view of the City. Mind you that it is closed during winters. (This is also in the Old Town)
St. Catherine’s Passage- Only .01 kilometer from the hotel is a picturesque small street with quaint restaurant and cafes. Stalls that sell scarves, stained glass, ceramics are all over this pretty place. Tombstones can be seen on side and craft workshops are also open to visitors.
